El CabrĂłn beach. 08/11/2020. The El CabrĂłn beach is one of my favourites one in the eastern part of Gran Canaria and I certainly recommend you to visit it. It stands out for several reasons, mainly because it is a beach with fine golden sand, transparent bottoms, no waves and the best thing is that it is not very crowded.

3. Re: Calm, non windy beach. Just to add to the recommendations above Taurito beach which lies between Puerto Rico and Puerto Mogan is very sheltered indeed as regards wind. It's a natural dark sand beach and to be honest it's not the best but it is the best bet for shelter should it be blowing a bit.
It is a group of dunes that look to one side or the other depending on the wind, almost always coming from the east or southeast. It is one of the best-preserved areas in the south of Gran Canaria which makes it an obligatory visit. One of the most striking things about this part of the island is the richness of its fauna.
