It has hill start handbrake, the handbrake works fine manually. In the morning on first start up, it takes longer for the fault lights to illuminate, 3/4 minutes. After running the lights appear sooner, Fault lights are: Auto P off, ESP fault, Service. Once running, no other faults only the hill start, i.e. the 3sec delay is not working.

Yup, working with the wiring diagram - there's an 'air conditioning heating system' diagram at the back of the haynes manual. Not colour, but the wires are colour coded. I should have maybe unplugged the connector from the resistor module and then put a jumper cable across two of the prongs, with the fan switched on.
