When the game released, I had the idea to bring the idea of naming scheme for my Ranger pets into GW2, but at the time, names were not saved. So for the longest time, I had a list on the side to keep track. Now that the game saves the names, I finally have it sorted. I would like to see what ideas others have hit upon for naming pets.
A Juvenile Smokescale will only spawn after SCAR Field Operations reach max strength. The meta event will say "Success! Click to enlarge. The Eye of the North is an ancient, huge tower in the Far Shiverpeaks, with architecture matching that of no known species, and now in ruins. It is topped with a hollow spire, the uppermost part of which has always appeared to be either incomplete or broken off. The Eye contains two rooms—the main interior of the tower I merge with my pets primarily to use beast abilities and leave beast mode and summon my pet whenever they are down. The pet does more damage active than passively waiting for the beast abilities to come back up. Also, you can use the 4 second unblockable / stun break skill on entering beast mode by switching modes frequently.
Pets have never actually been part of elite specs - any ranger can use any pets regardless of which specs they're using, the only restriction is having to find the pets. (I was using a pet wyvern long before I unlocked druid in HoT.) So not getting new elites doesn't necessarily mean not getting new pets.
According to the Guild Wars 2 Wiki, you can find juvenile sharks in the Kessex Hills, specifically, at Viathan Lake and Viathan's Arm. I also found one floating above the Lair of the Seawitch. I saw one in Viathan Lake swimming around just outside the entrance to the Blood Witch's lair. I'll go check that out tonight.
Base Game Pets. Juvenile Arctodus. Arctoduses are amphibious bears that live exclusively in the Shiverpeak Mountains. They have the Ferocious archetype, giving them Juvenile Black Bear. Juvenile Brown Bear. Juvenile Murellow. Juvenile Polar Bear.
